Re: Healing

This forum is far people who identify as a "Grown Wounded Child" (GWCs), and wish to reduce their wounds. It's a place to describe your experiences and your wound-recovery problems and successes. If you haven't yet, take self-study Lesson 1 at http://sfhelp.org/gwc/guide1.htm for perspective

hi there, thanks to pete for reminding me that this forum exists. i didn't realise that i was a GWC. i'm so grateful to know that i can possibly heal, because i can see quite clearly that my wounded personality is affecting my family adversely. wouldn't it be great if the healing could take place over a few days ? then i could just get on with life and live without all this trauma and my wife and children could live happily with a dad who is positive and strong. i'm almost fifty and only now am i beginning to see that change is really possible. i've always said the words, but in my heart i've given up and a lot of the time i think about dying and suicide. i can identify at least three people in me and only recently have i become aware that these guys are falling over each other to be in charge. the story is so long. i hope that i find the time to sit at this console more often. :) peace, love and understanding to all.

Healing

Postby pilgrim27 on Wed Aug 06, 2008 6:46 am

Hi again, Blue - I'm glad you stayed with our forum! I've felt a version of what you describe, and have been harmonizing my "guys within" since 1986 (I was 48). My life is significantly better. If you haven't recently, study and tailor this series on harmonizing your subselves. Your questions and comments are welcome, and will inspire others. I cheer you on! - Pete

Welcome dsm! You're in good company! "Lesson 1" in this site is all about Grown Wounded Children (GWCs) and false-self wound-reduction. I suggest you study this site introduction, this guide to Lesson 1, and this intro to recovery. Then if you have questions about the site, the [wounds + unawareness] cycle, or wound-recovery, please post them here. I simplified the site navigation scheme in June, and hope you find it asier to get around. Thanks for your post - Pete

Hello to all, I am also a GWC. I'm hoping this forum will be the answer to meeting one of my needs which has been to bounce things off of others without judgement.

Hey evereyone, I am a gwc also, and sad to say, I am sixty three years old, and have lived a live of misery. because of being raise with very little female contact, I am scared to death of any woman i am attracted to, which is most of them. I would have killed myself long ago If i were not such a coward. I try to find the humor in it but sometimes its hard.
